The Depository of Geek: Yet another The Dark Knight Rises trailer!

So yeah there was yet another TDKR trailer released this week.  That brings the total count to four.  But hey you got alot of non-Batman fans out there to convince.  This trailer like the others does not disappoint in the least.

There is truly alot to love in this trailer.  It builds on the previous trailers by giving up alittle bit more footage and dialogue without giving much more of the plot of the film away.  On another website, a writer for the site was surprised that all of the marketing for this film, including this trailer, don't really tell the audience much about Bane.  He argued that in order to sell the general audience on this film there needs to more given up about the central villain.  Why should the audience care about Bane?  He is no Joker, right?

Well the truth is that WB and Chris Nolan don't need to tell the general audience anything at all about Bane.  I am certain Nolan has many great surprises for us when it comes to just who Bane is.  I would hate to have some of them ruined in the marketing for the film.  Sometimes surprises are a good thing in films.  I can't tell you how many trailers I have seen this year that basically give the film away.  They show all the great money shots and lay nearly all of the surprises in the film bare.  I don't need a trailer to tell me the whole story of the film.

No, the marketing has been just fine to me.  It introduces the new characters (save for one noteable omission*), sets up the conflicts of the film, and shows some of the more major things that take place in the film.  That is enough for me.  Why oh why do we demand to know everything?  Mr. Nolan, I am happy to let you surprise me on July 19th when I see the midnight screening of this film.

But back to the trailer, enjoy it above.  BTW, really digging the music on this film from what I have heard to this point.

*Marion Cotillard's character Miranda Tate is curiously missing from most of the marketing on the film so far.  I know why that is, but I don't want to ruin that particular reveal for those of you looking to remain spoiler free on the film before release.
